Softball Recap: Exeter Drops Season-High Score on Summit Charter Collegiate Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Exeter). They skirted past the Summit Charter Collegiate Academy Bears 16-15. The Monarchs haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Taylor Brandt was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Hupp, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Exeter hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matches.

Exeter pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Exeter didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-5 defeat against South on the 14th. As for Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-0 loss against Sierra Pacific on the 14th.
