Volleyball Recap: Horizon Hawks vs. Niwot Cougars
Horizon and Niwot squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Horizon had to settle for second. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 3-0. The Hawks have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Allison Bailey paced Horizon's offense, picking up 12 kills. Bailey got some help from Annalee Young and her 16 assists. Stephanie Smith controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Niwot found their leader in sophomore Olivia Hamlin, who had nine digs.
Horizon's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Niwot, they have been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
Horizon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Niwot, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Pueblo West on the 8th.
