Volleyball Recap: Avon Eagles vs. Jackson Polar Bears

The Avon Eagles beat the Jackson Polar Bears 2-0 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Avon not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Jackson between 19 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19.

Avon found their leader in sophomore Ally Brediger, who had 18 digs.

Despite the loss, Jackson still got an impressive performance from Alece Evanto, who had 12 digs. Evanto has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Avon's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Jackson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avon is headed away from home for the first time to square off against North Ridgeville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. After both having extra time off, Jackson and GlenOak will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:45 p.m. on the 26th.
