Basketball Game Preview: Middletown Middies vs. Mason Comets

Middletown is 0-10 against Mason since January of 2020 but things could change on Saturday. The Middletown Middies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mason Comets at 1:45 p.m.

Middletown easily dispatched Mt. Healthy on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Middletown fell just short of Fairfield by a score of 42-40 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Mason entered their tilt with Lakota East on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Thunderhawks 59-39. The Comets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.

Mason's win came from a few key players Middletown will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Anna Habra, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Parrish, who went 9 for 20 en route to 22 points.

Mason pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Middletown, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
