Baseball Recap: Dixie Beats Hurricane for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Dixie won against Hurricane on Thursday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Flyers beat the Tigers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 10-2. Considering the Flyers have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Dixie got a massive performance out of Weston Gilmore, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles Gilmore has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Carter Turley, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

Dixie lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Dixie, bringing their record up to 14-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Hurricane, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Dixie will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
