There's no place like home for Fairmont Heights, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Crossland Cavaliers by a score of 36-23 on Thursday. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fairmont Heights to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nevaeh Payne, who posted nine points and four steals. Payne is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games she's played. Aniya Green was another key player, putting up six points and six steals.

Crossland's loss came despite strong showings from Ramia Alston and Myli Granados. Alston put up 12 points, while Granados had six points.

Fairmont Heights now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Crossland, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-9.

Coming up, Fairmont Heights will host Douglass at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Douglass knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Fairmont Heights likes a good challenge. As for Crossland, they will head out on the road to face off against High Point at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Crossland is facing High Point at the right time seeing as High Point is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
