Softball Recap: Rock Falls Beats Dixon for Their Third Straight Win

Rock Falls waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Dixon Dukes & Duchesses by a score of 4-1. This was a revenge game for the Rockets: when they faced off against the Dukes & Duchesses two weeks ago, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Zoey Silva spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Rock Falls saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kacie Witherow, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Witherow is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Julia Renner was another, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Rock Falls' record now sits at 10-18. As for Dixon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Rock Falls will welcome Sterling at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Dixon, they will square off against Rockford Auburn at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
