Basketball Recap: Pope Greyhounds vs. Lassiter Trojans
Pope was the 59-36 winner over Lassiter when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Pope Greyhounds fell to the Lassiter Trojans 62-58. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Greyhounds came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Trojans are ranked 135th).
Sophie Hortman had a dynamite game for Lassiter, going 8-for-14 en route to 30 points and three steals. Those 30 points gave Hortman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Mackenny, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.
