Basketball Recap: Eminence Comes Up Short

If Eminence was riding high fresh off their 53-31 takedown of Dugger Union last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eminence Eels were beaten by the Waldron Mohawks 50-20 on Friday. The match marked the Eels' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Waldron was led to victory by Ethan Moody and Lucas Shaw. Moody posted nine points along with six rebounds and six steals, while Shaw scored 12 points and five boards. Moody is becoming a predictor of Waldron's success: when he posts at least three steals the team is 4-2 (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Max Jones, who had four points in addition to eight rebounds and five blocks.

Eminence's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Waldron, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Eminence wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-33 defeat against Edinburgh on the 18th. Waldron has also already played their next match, a 41-40 victory against Jac-Cen-Del on the 18th.
