Dayton is a perfect 4-0 against Sheridan since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Pirates will challenge the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. Sheridan took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Dayton, who comes in off a win.

Dayton proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 22) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Yamhill-Carlton 8-7. The win was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won three contests in a row.

Meanwhile, Sheridan fell victim to Scio and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 23-0 to the Loggers. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Loggers: they've now lost five in a row.

Dayton's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Sheridan, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Everything went Dayton's way against Sheridan when the teams last played back in April, as Dayton made off with an 18-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
