Recap: Berlin Redcoats vs. Conard Red Wolves

The Berlin Redcoats lost against the Conard Red Wolves back in February of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Berlin took a hard 61-47 fall against Conard. While losing is never fun, Berlin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Conard is ranked fourth).

Several Redcoats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brooke Walker, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Walker is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Emma Ellison was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.

Berlin's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for Conard, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berlin will stay at home for another game and welcome Bristol Central at 6:45 p.m. on January 29th. Conard will take on Simsbury at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
