Softball Recap: Lisbon Gets the Win

On Monday Lisbon's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Oak Hill Raiders. While the Greyhounds didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Mackenzie Eaton made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Brynn Chase was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubriana Bright, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Lisbon pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Oak Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Lisbon will face off against Hall-Dale at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oak Hill, they will host Monmouth Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
