Baseball Recap: Dwyer Takes a Loss

After flying high against Palm Beach Gardens last Wednesday, Dwyer came back down to earth. The Dwyer Panthers took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the American Heritage Patriots on Friday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Sully Smith and Dom Pecoraro stepped up to the plate in a big way. Smith scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Pecoraro scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Pecoraro has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Dwyer's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for American Heritage, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Dwyer has already played their next match (against Sports Leadership & Management), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for American Heritage, they have already played their next contest, a 9-2 win against Somerset Academy on the 18th.
