Basketball Game Preview: Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks vs. Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons

The Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks are taking a road trip to take on the Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Waverly-Shell Rock comes in on ten and Aplington-Parkersburg on 11.

Waverly-Shell Rock can't be too worried about heading out to take on Aplington-Parkersburg: they just beat Cascade at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Waverly-Shell Rock beat Cascade on Saturday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 72-52. The Go-Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Aplington-Parkersburg didn't have too much trouble with Union on Friday as they won 75-61. The Falcons pushed the score to 68-40 by the end of the third, a deficit the Knights cut but never quite recovered from.

Aplington-Parkersburg pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points over those games. As for Waverly-Shell Rock, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.
