Basketball Game Preview: Southridge Suns vs. University Titans

The Southridge Suns will challenge the University Titans at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Southridge is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Kamiakin on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Southridge came up short against Kamiakin, falling 57-36. The matchup marked the Suns' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, University hadn't done well against Lewis & Clark recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. University came out on top against Lewis & Clark by a score of 67-59. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Tigers are ranked 134th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southridge dropped their record down to 11-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for University, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Southridge couldn't quite finish off University in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 and fell 50-48. Can Southridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
