Football Recap: Sleepy Hollow's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Nine + How To Watch

With a playoff win on the line, Sleepy Hollow rose to the challenge on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Saugerties Sawyers with a sharp 46-26 victory. Considering the Horsemen have won eight matchups by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Sleepy Hollow's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeremiah Bowen led the charge by throwing for 195 yards and three touchdowns on only six passes, while also rushing for 33 yards and one score. Gilbert Onwe also helped with two TDs in total.

Sleepy Hollow didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Bowen picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win was the ninth in a row for Sleepy Hollow, bringing their record up to 11-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.4 points on average over those games. As for Saugerties, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.

Coming up, Sleepy Hollow will square off against Glens Falls at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Black Bears' defense has only allowed 7.2 points per game this season, so the Horsemen's offense will have their work cut out for them. Saugerties does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
