Football Recap: Marion Starts off Right with Win over Fort Wayne South Side

Marion gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They snuck past the Fort Wayne South Side Archers with a 48-42 victory. The win almost wasn't to be: the Giants were down 21-7 in the second quarter.

Timotheus Jones had a dynamite game, rushing for 143 yards, while also throwing for 137 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Marion's leading receiver Logan Barnes was Jones' top target yet again, picking up 68 receiving yards and one TD.

Looking ahead, Marion will take on Mississinewa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Wayne South Side, they will face off against South Bend Saint Joseph at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
