Softball Recap: Milano Extends Winning Streak to Three

Milano won the last time they faced Somerville and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Yeguas a 4-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The result came thanks to Karley Hairston's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rayelee Keen was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles and one run. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marissa Balderas, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Milano's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Somerville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Milano has already played their next contest, a 21-1 win against North Zulch on the 4th. As for Somerville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 6-5 victory against Snook on the 4th.
