Soccer Game Preview: Bell vs. South Gate

The Bell Eagles will take on the South Gate Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Bell fell victim to Palisades and their airtight defense back in December of 2025. They fell just short of the Dolphins by a score of 1-0. Bell have struggled against Palisades recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, South Gate sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Palisades on Monday. The win was all the more spectacular given South Gate's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 656th, while Palisades are ranked 72nd).

Jayden Cruz and Jesus Meza scored both of South Gate's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Bell's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3-2. As for South Gate, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6-2.

Bell came out on top in a nail-biter against South Gate in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
