Baseball Recap: Shades Valley Comes Up Short

Shades Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils, falling 21-4. The Mounties were not able to make up for their loss to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Shades Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Douglas, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Douglas a new career-high in hits (two). Eli Nelson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Shades Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Mortimer Jordan, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shades Valley will challenge Clay-Chalkville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mortimer Jordan, they will face off against Corner at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mortimer Jordan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.7 runs per game this season.
