Recap: Minor Tigers vs. Pelham Panthers
After a string of four wins, the Minor Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to Pelham. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Minor in their matchups with Pelham: they've now lost three in a row.
Minor's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Mcclain, who scored 16 points. The game was Mcclain's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Matthew Grice, who scored nine points.
Minor's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Pelham, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minor will face off against Mortimer Jordan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pelham, they will head out on the road to face off against Briarwood Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
