Softball Preview: Pottsville Apaches vs. Morrilton Devil Dogs
The Pottsville Apaches will be playing in front of their home fans against the Morrilton Devil Dogs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Morrilton took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Pottsville, who comes in off a win.
Pottsville proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 15) but on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over Dover.
Kara Liverett was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasidy Horton, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Morrilton unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 11-8 to Clinton.
Pottsville's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Morrilton, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-9.
Pottsville took their victory against Morrilton in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 7-1. Will Pottsville repeat their success, or does Morrilton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
