Tri-County North took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Newton Local, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers won by a run and slipped past the Indians 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since April 12th.

Peyton Fannin was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Shively, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Tri-County North and bumps their season record up to 13-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Newton Local, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tri-County North will venture away from home to square off against Dayton Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Newton Local, they will head out to take on Ansonia at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
