Softball Recap: Harpeth Indians vs. East Hickman County Eagles

There's no place like home for Harpeth, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They had just enough and edged the East Hickman County Eagles out 5-4. That's more bragging rights for Harpeth, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Anna Greer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Chloe Grantham was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Blessing Minnis, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Harpeth has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10-1 record this season. As for East Hickman County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

Harpeth will head out on the road to take on Cheatham County Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cheatham County Central will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Harpeth surely won't give up without a fight. East Hickman County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
