Soccer Recap: Yuma Comes Up Short

Yuma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cibola Raiders. The Criminals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Yuma's goal came courtesy of Jared Nu?ez, which was the first he's scored this season.

Yuma's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Cibola, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-6.

Yuma and Cibola could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. Yuma will challenge Kofa at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th down 129 places (147 vs. 18). Similarly, Cibola (ranked 84th) will meet San Luis (ranked ninth) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
