Volleyball Recap: Holly Grove Christian Takes a Loss

Holly Grove Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Calvary Christian Academy LIONS, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the LIONS this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 12th.

While Holly Grove Christian ultimately came up short, they really made Calvary Christian Academy work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 26-24, 25-19.

Holly Grove Christian's offense was headlined by Bethanie Parks and Cassidy Hickman, who picked up three kills apiece. Parks really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with four. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Holly Grove Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Holly Grove Christian is set to face off against their familiar foe Seaside Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Calvary Christian Academy will take on rival Fairwinds Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
