Basketball Recap: Springfield Cougars vs. Constitution Generals
After a string of five wins, the Springfield Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Constitution by a score of 48-45. While losing is never fun, Springfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Generals are ranked 42nd).
Perry Fields was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with three steals for Constitution. Amir Speights was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Constitution, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5.
Springfield will take on the Raptors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Radnor has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 251 points over their last four matchups. Constitution does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
