Softball Recap: Indian Rocks Christian's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Indian Rocks Christian came into Tuesday's matchup having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Admiral Farragut BlueJackets 15-4 on Tuesday. The Eagles not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 19-4).

Sophia Bello made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ellie Harris, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. Haylie David also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Indian Rocks Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Admiral Farragut only posted an OBP of .227.

Indian Rocks Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-18. As for Admiral Farragut, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-11.

Indian Rocks Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Admiral Farragut, they will square off against Shorecrest Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
