Softball Recap: Republic County Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Concordia, Republic County was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs by a score of 12-7. With that win, the Buffaloes brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Jordyn Blazek spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Avery Stindt, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with eight RBI, two triples, and two runs. Those eight RBI gave her a new career-high. Drew Skocny was another key player, scoring four runs while going 4-for-5.

Republic County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Republic County's record is now 2-3. As for Sylvan-Lucas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Mustangs beat Republic County by a score of 12-9 later that day.
