Basketball Game Preview: Gateway Panthers vs. Celebration Storm

The Gateway Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Celebration Storm at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Gateway and four for Celebration.

On Tuesday, Gateway was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-48 to Lake Mary.

Meanwhile, Celebration suffered their closest loss since January 5, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Poinciana by a score of 50-48. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 428th, while the Eagles are ranked 150th).

Gateway's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Celebration, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

Gateway beat Celebration 43-33 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Does Gateway have another victory up their sleeve, or will Celebration turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
