Basketball Recap: Middle College's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Middle College has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They came up short against the Fayette Ware Wildcats on Tuesday, falling 79-56. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Wildcats are ranked 36th).

Fayette Ware's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tarecous Stevens, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Stevens has been hot recently, having also posted three or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tacarien Freeman, who went 6 of 10 en route to 16 points.

Middle College's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5. As for Fayette Ware, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5.

Middle College will host Manassas at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th. As for Fayette Ware, they will head out to square off against St. Benedict at Auburndale at 7:30 p.m. on January 15th.
