Basketball Recap: Cody-Kilgore Piles Up the Points Against Sioux County

Cody-Kilgore was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Sioux County on Friday. The Cody-Kilgore Cowboys/Cowgirls took their game with ease, bagging a 58-18 victory over the Sioux County Warriors. The Cowboys/Cowgirls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Sioux County had strong showings from Logan Monroe, who posted six points and nine boards, and Josh Perez, who earned four points in addition to eight rebounds and five blocks. Those five blocks gave Perez a new career-high.

Cody-Kilgore's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Sioux County, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Cody-Kilgore will venture away from home to challenge Hemingford on Tuesday. Hemingford will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Cody-Kilgore surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sioux County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 48-46 loss against Edgemont on the 25th.
