Soccer Game Preview: Sheldon vs. Liberty Ranch

The Sheldon Huskies will venture away from home to challenge the Liberty Ranch Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Sheldon came up short against Grant and fell 3-1. The loss was the Huskies' first of the season.

Their goal came courtesy of Johann Aguilar, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Liberty Ranch kept a clean sheet against El Dorado on Saturday. They blew past the Cougars 4-0. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Cougars are ranked 305th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Liberty Ranch and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for Sheldon, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Sheldon beat Liberty Ranch 3-1 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sheldon since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
