Basketball Recap: Chesapeake Science Point Comes Up Short

Chesapeake Science Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They lost to the Severn Run Wolves on the road by a 52-38 margin.

When it comes to explaining why Chesapeake Science Point lost, don't look at Oluwaseun Akinrodemi. Despite the final result, he posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Bernard Woodson V, who had eight points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Chesapeake Science Point smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in five consecutive games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Severn Run to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sebastian Richards, who earned five points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave Richards a new career-high. Ricco Gough was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Chesapeake Science Point's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Severn Run, they pushed their record up to 5-14 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Chesapeake Science Point wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 67-32 loss against Southern on the 18th. As for Severn Run, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-32 defeat against Glen Burnie on the 18th.
