Baseball Recap: Marceline Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Marceline proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Linn County Mustangs 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since March 28, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Cody Rodgers, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Wes Bradley, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Marceline's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. As for Linn County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Marceline will head out on the road to take on Putnam County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Linn County, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against North Shelby at 5:00 p.m.
