Basketball Recap: Carroll Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Carroll can now relate to. They fell 54-41 to the North Miami Warriors on Saturday.

When it comes to explaining why Carroll lost, don't look at Eliza Rinehart. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 19 points and 16 boards. Those 19 points gave Rinehart a new career-high.

North Miami's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kayden Donaldson, who almost dropped a triple-double with nine points, 11 rebounds, and ten blocks. Donaldson has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 15 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Laney Musall, who posted 13 points and seven rebounds.

Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for North Miami, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-10.

Carroll does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Miami, they will face off against Marquette Catholic at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Miami has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
