Softball Game Preview: South Point Red Raiders vs. Forestview Jaguars

South Point is 0-10 against Forestview since March of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Red Raiders will host the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

South Point's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when Crest hitters got past them. The Red Raiders came up short against the Chargers on Friday, falling 11-1. The Red Raiders were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the seven contests prior), but the Chargers' pitchers proved too tough.

Meanwhile, Forestview lost 7-1 to Kings Mountain on Friday. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Olivia Hensley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Forestview saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Cabe, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Forestview's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for South Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
