Baseball Recap: St. Petersburg Takes a Loss

After flying high against Palm Harbor University last Monday, St. Petersburg came back down to earth. The St. Petersburg Green Devils came up short against the Osceola Warriors on Thursday, falling 10-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 back in February.

St. Petersburg got a good showing from Luke Elliott, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Elliott has allowed since back in February of 2024.

St. Petersburg has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6-1 record this season. The victory made it two in a row for Osceola and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Petersburg will take on Calvary Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Osceola, they will challenge Wesley Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
