Baseball Recap: Middletown Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Middletown waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Harrisburg Cougars with a sharp 14-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Blue Raiders, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Brayden Reigle was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, earning two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Miller, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mitchell Miscevich, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Middletown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harrisburg only posted an OBP of .286.

Middletown's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Harrisburg, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

As of now, neither Middletown nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
