Baseball Game Preview: Horizon Huskies vs. Notre Dame Prep Saints

For the second straight game, Horizon will face off against Notre Dame Prep. Horizon is taking a road trip to take on Notre Dame Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Horizon took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 12-7 victory over Notre Dame Prep.

Hunter Walker looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chris Quigg, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Colten Figueroa was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Horizon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Horizon pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Notre Dame Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
