Joey Berkebile and Tony Strasiser provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Meyersdale. The connection was good for 90 yards, the longest such play in Western Pennsylvania [WPAC] this season.
Conemaugh Valley was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 10th to seventh in the league. The Bluejays beat Rockwood 25-0 earlier in the week.
North Star's dynamic duo of Berkebile and Strasiser proved tough for the Red Raiders to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Berkebile threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns and Strasiser had 114 yards receiving. Brantley Rice helped North Star's passing attack out by catching two balls for 48 yards.
Bruno Rosa provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Conemaugh Township lost to Homer-Center. He completed 11 passes for 257 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 32 yards. Rosa's favorite target this week was Jake Formica, who caught two passes for 92 yards.
Caleb Kephart was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 226 yards on 13 carries as Portage topped Meyersdale. Teammate Luke Dividock added to the ground attack by rushing for 117 yards.
Ferndale's Chad Eisenhuth and Isaiah Sajatovich have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Western Pennsylvania [WPAC] in both passing and receiving yards. Eisenhuth has thrown for 910 yards this season, while Sajatovich, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 22 catches for 375 yards. Brock Medva from Shade leads the league in rushing with 1085 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Indians take on the Mustangs. Conemaugh Township is currently in eighth, while Portage is in second.
Berlin Brothersvalley extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Panthers, 40-7. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
