Baseball Recap: Nampa Christian Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Nampa Christian extended their postseason success on Saturday against Firth. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Cougars. Considering the Trojans have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Kaden Mullins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Riley Schaefer looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Zac Woods, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ben Knudsen, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Nampa Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Nampa Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Firth, their loss dropped their record down to 20-8.

Nampa Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-1 victory against Marsing on the 15th. Firth does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
