Baseball Game Preview: Riverview Sharks vs. Tampa Bay Tech Titans

Riverview has gone a perfect 4-0 against Tampa Bay Tech recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Riverview Sharks will square off against the Tampa Bay Tech Titans at 7:00 p.m. Riverview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Riverview will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Blake on Monday. Riverview never let Blake get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Yellow Jackets: they've now won six in a row.

Riverview got a great performance from Driston Marino as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Marino has allowed since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jan Carlos Rodriguez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He also brought in three RBI, which is notable because Riverview is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 4-8 otherwise. Gabe Boltz also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Tampa Bay Tech and Freedom, and Freedom kept the tradition alive. Tampa Bay Tech lost 16-5 to Freedom on Monday.

Tampa Bay Tech saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Gibson, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Gibson a new career-high in RBI (three). Joseph Hartman was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

Riverview's record is now 7-8. As for Tampa Bay Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
