Basketball Recap: Fleetwood Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Fleetwood faced off against Schuylkill Valley on Thursday. The Fleetwood Tigers took a 69-55 bruising from the Schuylkill Valley Panthers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-40 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Fleetwood lost, don't look at Mason Senna. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 14 on his way to 26 points. Those 26 points gave Senna a new career-high. Cj Sallee was another key player, putting up eight points.

Fleetwood has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Schuylkill Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Fleetwood and Schuylkill Valley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. Fleetwood will challenge Daniel Boone at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday down 319 places (619 vs. 300). Meanwhile, Schuylkill Valley (ranked 350th) will meet Wyomissing (ranked 142nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
