Brandon Adams leads a balanced attack to beat East Wake

Recap: Knightdale Knights vs. East Wake Warriors

The matchup between the Knightdale Knights and the East Wake Warriors on Friday hardly resembled the 6-4 effort from their previous meeting. The stars were shining brightly for Knightdale in a 71-57 victory over East Wake. Given Knightdale's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while East Wake is ranked 360th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Knightdale got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brandon Adams out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Adams has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Khaim Taylor, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.

Despite the loss, East Wake still got an impressive performance from Donovan Midget, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikel Rogers, who scored ten points.

Knightdale is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for East Wake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Knightdale is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Sanderson at 6:30 p.m. on December 19th. Sanderson is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. East Wake will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Riverside-Durham at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th.
