Basketball Recap: Rogers Piles Up the Points Against Perry County

Rogers's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They blew past the Perry County Vikings 68-41. That looming 68-41 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Pirates yet this season.

Perry County's loss came despite strong showings from Colton Pevahouse and Kenner Haston. Pevahouse went 5 for 12 on his way to 11 points in addition to five assists and four steals, while Haston went 5 of 11 en route to 15 points. Haston's morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Mercer, who posted five points.

Rogers moved to 5-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Perry County, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Rogers will welcome Wilson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Perry County, they will be taking part in a tournament against Lincoln County at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. Perry County is facing Lincoln County at the right time seeing as Lincoln County is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
