Recap: Paramus Spartans vs. Northern Highlands Highlanders
The Paramus Spartans lost against the Northern Highlands Highlanders back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The matchup between Paramus and Northern Highlands wasn't particularly close, with Paramus falling 58-40. While losing is never fun, Paramus can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Northern Highlands is ranked 26th).
Northern Highlands was led to victory by Lucas Dipasupil and Sawyer Chapler. Dipasupil scored 13 points along with two steals, while Chapler scored 14 points along with three steals. Dipasupil is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeffrey Weinberger, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Paramus dropped their record down to 5-16 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Northern Highlands, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Paramus will be playing in front of their home fans against Passaic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Paramus is facing Passaic at the right time seeing as Passaic is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Northern Highlands, they will face off against Don Bosco Prep at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Don Bosco Prep sitting on nine straight wins and Northern Highlands on four.
