Basketball Recap: Burley Beats Canyon Ridge for Their Fifth Straight Win

Burley extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Ruby Taylor. The Burley Bobcats simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Canyon Ridge Riverhawks 58-31 thanks in part to Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Taylor is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Lloyd, who posted six points and five steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game.

Burley's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Canyon Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Burley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-25 win against Vallivue on the 7th. As for Canyon Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-21 loss against Madison on the 13th.
