Basketball Recap: Norco Falls Despite Big Games from Caleb Ward and Ryan Ibbetson

Norco lost against King back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Norco Cougars fell 51-38 to the King Wolves. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Norco's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ryan Ibbetson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards, and Caleb Ward, who posted ten points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Those seven boards gave Ward a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Edgar Mojica, who earned three points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Norco smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Norco's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for King, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-13 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Santiago the next time they take the court. King will head out to face Santiago at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Norco will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
