Basketball Game Preview: Park City Miners vs. Orem Tigers

After both having extra time off, the Park City Miners and the Orem Tigers will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Park City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Park City turned things around against Hillcrest last Friday. They walked away with a 42-33 win over the Huskies. The game marked the Miners' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Park City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dylan Radziukinas led the charge by putting up 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Johnson, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Orem played a tough contest last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 61-23 loss at the hands of Spanish Fork. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-11.

Park City's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-7. As for Orem, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Park City came up short against Orem in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, falling 38-30. Can Park City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
